If you're wondering what's actually worth eating in NYC… this is it.

When I say we ate our way through NYC, I mean it. Between walking 30k steps a day and saying yes to literally everything that looked good, this trip turned into a full-on foodie experience.

And here's the thing... not everything viral is worth it. But some things REALLY are.

1. Any Bagel Shop (Trust Me on This)

Let me just say it: Don't go to the popular places.

Pick a random corner deli, order a bacon, egg, and cheese, and it's going to be incredible.

  • Soft bagel

  • Crispy bacon

  • Perfect melty egg + cheese

This was one of my favorite meals of the entire trip — and it cost basically nothing.

My NYC food rule: The more random the deli… the better the bagel.

2. Ten Thousand Coffee — So Creamy, So Worth It

This was one of our first stops in the city and SUCH a good one.

  • Order the Einspänner

    • Super creamy

    • Rich but not too heavy

    • Feels like a treat but still a coffee

My rating: 8.3/10

Perfect way to start your NYC mornings.

3. Caffe Paradiso — Worth the Hype

I'm usually skeptical of viral drinks… but this one absolutely deserves it.

  • Salted Brown Butter Oat Latte

    • Cozy, rich, slightly sweet

    • Yes, the line is long… still worth it

My rating: 10/10

I would go back to NYC just for this.

4. Paris Baguette — Cute + Actually Good

This was such a fun little stop.

  • Milk & cereal mochi donut

    • Chewy (because mochi!!)

    • Sweet but still light

    • SO cute for content

My rating: 9/10

5. A Hot Dog From Literally Any Street Cart

You just have to.

We grabbed one outside of the American Museum of Natural History and it was such a classic NYC moment. Quick. Cheap. Very "main character in NYC" energy.

My rating: 6/10 (for the experience alone, and honestly, I don't like hot dogs in general lol).

6. Joe's Pizza — The Classic That Delivers

If there's a long line… just get in it.

  • Slices to try:

    • Mozzarella slice

    • White slice

My rating: 9/10

7. Imasa Nori Sushi Izakaya — Best Meal of the Trip

This was hands down the BEST thing we ate.

  • So fresh

  • Melt-in-your-mouth

  • Random find = best find

My rating: 10/10

8. Angelina Bakery — Sweet Treat Stop

Perfect mid-day reset.

  • Pastries + desserts

  • Quick stop near Times Square

  • Cozy little moment during a busy day

My rating: 9.2/10

9. Blank Street Coffee — My Honest Take

Okay… hot take.

  • A little too sweet for me

  • More trendy than necessary

My rating: 4.5/10

If you take anything from this:

  • Skip the overhyped spots (sometimes)

  • Random = often better

  • Long lines are usually a good sign

  • Balance viral + local finds
